Marquette girls capture Class 2 state swimming championship

Slowly, Marquette coach Joe Schoedel’s Mustangs realize they are the Class 2 state girls swim champions. The Marquette Mustangs won the Class 2 state swimming champions. “I think it’s still sinking in,” Schoedel said. It was the program’s third title. The other two came in 1999 and 2000. West Country girls who have qualified to compete in state swimming and diving championships

The three day Missouri State High School Athletic Association girls state swim meet begins Thursday at the Rec-Plex in St. Peters. A total of 399 girls will compete in the Class 2 meet. A total of 401 girls will compete in the Class 1 meet. The Class 2 meet begins Thursday morning and and concludes Friday morning. The Class 1 meet begins Friday afternoon and ends Saturday afternoon. MICDS’ tidal wave captures Metro League girls swim meet; girls sing to new team member

The newest addition to the MICDS girls swim team is a boy. The MICDS girls swim team won the recent Metro League meet championship. Coach Kristen Witzman gave birth to her first child. Bennett Evan Witzman was born at 3:31 p.m. last Tuesday. “At that moment, the girls were getting warmed up to swim the meet,” said assistant coach Chris McCrary. “He was born a healthy 9 pounds, 5 ounces. Marquette girls capture fifth conference swim meet in a row

The Marquette Mustangs capped another spectacular swim season by winning the Suburban Conference Yellow Pool girls meet. The Marquette Mustangs celebrate their conference championship in the water along with their coach Joe Schoedel, whom they tossed in the pool. It marked Marquette’s fifth consecutive league title. The Mustangs finished first in the recent meet with an astounding 515.5 points. Kirkwood was a distant second with 317 points. Lafayette came in third with 298.5 followed by Parkway South with 218.
