St. Luke’s Hospital offers a Sitter Skills course on Monday, July 16 from noon-2:30 p.m. at the hospital’s Institute for Health Education, 222 South Woods Mill Road in Chesterfield [North Medical Office Building, Level 2].  This program for beginning babysitters, age 11 and older, includes information on safety, basic first aid, child development, behavior management and babysitting as a business. A babysitting resource book, certificate of participation, tote bag and light refreshments will be provided. The course fee is $25 per child. Fourth-grader hits hole-in-one If Mason Reynolds decides he needs a lucky number, nine would be a good choice. Reynolds, who is 9 and attends Ellisville Elementary, scored a hole-in-one recently at Forest Hills Country Club in Clarkson Valley. The ace came on the par 3 No. 3 hole. It was set up at 109 yards. Reynolds used a 9-iron off the tee. Metropolitan Cup renamed in honor of Thomas Sobbe Jr.

The Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association (MAGA) recently lost long-time executive board member and one of its most avid supporters, Tom Sobbe, known to most as “Sob.” In an action by the executive board of MAGA at its recent meeting, the board voted unanimously to rename the Metropolitan Cup, its longstanding Member Club competition, to be now and forever known as The Thomas O. Sobbe, Jr. Cup. In his memory, friends of Tom Sobbe have donated an antique British silver cup (circa 1900) to bear the name of The Thomas O. St. Louis Metro Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game features top players competing

Bo Bunton will manage the National Team while Rick Fiala will lead the American Team in the annual St. Louis Metro Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game. The game will be played at 7 p.m. Monday (July 9) at the Ballwin Athletic Association. This is the 40th season for the St. Louis Metro Collegiate Baseball League .
