Fresh off softball tournament championship, Eureka faces two tough home games

The Eureka Wildcats look to build on a tournament championship this week. The Wildcats (10-5-1) are back in action with two home games this week after beating Holt 6-5 to win the Suburban Showdown. Eureka will host Kirkwood at 4:30 p.m. Monday (Sept. 23) and then have a Suburban Conference Yellow Pool game at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday against always tough Parkway South. Parkway West girls ready for big Paul Enke Invitational after winning Nelson race

The Parkway West girls are off and running. Finally. The cross country Longhorns, who finished second in the Class 4 state meet last fall, at last got their 2019 season under way. They did so in winning fashion. The Parkway West girls will run in the Paul Enke Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 21). The Longhorns enter the big meet after winning the recent Stan Nelson Invitational. The Longhorns finished first in the Stan Nelson Invitational at Northwest High. Parkway West won with 76 points. Parkway West cross country boys team heads into big meet after winning Stan Nelson Invitational

Coach Kevin John’s Parkway West boys cross country Longhorns finally got to stretch their legs in something that counts. The Longhorns didn’t get a chance to run in the Parkway Quad. The season-opening meet was rained out.
