For the past four years, Fort Zumwalt South has been blessed by one of the top goalkeepers in the area between the pipes, and on Saturday senior keeper Drew Orf came up big in the biggest game to date of  the postseason for the Bulldogs. Defense, ball control push Howell Central to state berth

  Francis Howell Central used a splendid combination of staunch defense and ball control offense to produce a pair of first half goals. The Spartans made that scoring stand up as they defeated Marquette 2-1 Saturday (Nov. 8) in a Class 4 quarterfinal at Francis Howell Central. Westminster administrators travel to Seoul

Westminster Christian Academy’s partner school, Saemmul Christian Academy (SCA) in Seoul, South Korea, celebrated the dedication of its new campus in mid-October and Westminster administration was on hand for the celebration. Construction on the school’s new campus was completed in the summer, allowing Saemmul students to begin the 2014-15 academic year in the new building this fall. To celebrate the school’s new facility, SCA hosted a national conference, inviting Christian educators and administrators from schools throughout the country to attend. Westminster Christian Academy, CBC, Lafayette will play for district football championships

Three West County teams have a chance to win a district football championship. Lafayette plays at Kirkwood and CBC hosts Hazelwood Central. Both games are at 7 p.m. Friday (Nov. 7). The Westminster Christian Academy Wildcats(10-1) host St. Francis Borgia (10-1) at 1 p.m. Saturday. The lone loss for the Knights came to the Wildcats on Oct. 17. Rec-Plex leisure pool closed Nov. 10-19

The St. Peters Rec-Plex will close the Leisure Pool in the Natatorium from Nov. 10-19 in order to install a new waterslide. The Leisure Pool will open back up on Nov. 20, and the new waterslide should be ready for use by Nov. 28. The new waterslide will be similar in design to the old one, which needed to be replaced due to wear and tear after 20 years of use. The Ballwin Police Department is a donation location for both “Toys for Tots” and “Warner’s Warm-Up.” Collection boxes are located in the front lobby of the police station in Vlasis Park at 300 Park Drive. Items may be dropped off any time, as the lobby is open 24/7. “Toys for Tots” is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve Unit that strives to collect and distribute new toys to unprivileged children in the area.
