High school softball district seedings, schedules

The high school softball postseason begins Wednesday (Oct.7) for local schools. Semifinal games will be played Thursday with the district championship games set for Friday. Here are the seeds for each district as well as the game schedule. Class 4 District 4 Seeds: Eureka (15-3), Northwest 16-8), Washington (14-9), Lafayette (9-11), and Rolla (4-16). Northwest is the district host. The district opens with Lafayette playing Rolla at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. Class 2 Sectional 1 high school girls golf tourney loaded with talented teams

Eureka coach Lauren Schoellhorn won’t be with her Wildcats when they tee it up in high school girls sectional golf tournament. She wasn’t with them when the qualified at district, either. Instead, Schoellhorn gave birth to a girl, Gretchen, who has a brother Noah, who is almost 3 years old. Her assistant coach, Ryley Spiezio, led the girls to districts and will be at the sectional as well while Schoellhorn is on maternity leave. MICDS travels to play in high school girls golf sectional

Coach Todd Pannett has no seniors on his Parkway Central girls golf team this fall but that not stopped them this fall. The Colts got out of the district and qualified to play in the Class 2 Sectional 2 tournament.   Defense became offense in a big way for the Parkway North Vikings on Friday night. That was bad news for visiting Webster Groves. Area high school hockey teams play in annual Webster Top Hat Tournament

It’s fall so it must be time to drop the puck for some high school hockey. The annual Webster Top Hat Tournament has 12 teams competing. Since 2003, CBC has won the area’s premier fall high shool varsity hockey tournament 11 times. “Webster has put it on since the 1990’s I believe,” CBC coach John Jost said. The Cadets went 31-2 last season and won the Mid-States Club Hockey Association Challenge Cup. CBC defeated St. Louis University High last winter to repeat as Challenge Cup champion.
